Meet Eniac’s newest team member: Owen Chun

By Anthony Ha

We’ve got a new face on the Eniac roster, with Owen Chun joining us as an investor working with our co-founder Tim Young.

Owen grew up near New York City in the town of Hastings-on-Hudson. He caught the startup bug early, launching his own online business focused on collectibles and postage stamps when he was only 14 years old, then moving on to another business wholesaling designer clothing.

When he began attending Baruch College, Owen’s focus shifted to finance. He eventually became CEO of Baruch’s Investment Management Group (an undergraduate collective that currently manages a $1 million stock portfolio) while also obtaining his BBA in finance. After graduating, he worked at J.P. Morgan as an investment banking analyst.

Owen says that working at Eniac represents the convergence of all those experiences — his early entrepreneurial efforts, his interest in investing, and the transformation he saw at J.P. Morgan as the banking industry has become increasingly disrupted and unbundled by VC-backed fintechs. His role will be a wide-ranging one that focuses on helping Tim and Eniac make better investments, whether that’s managing dealflow, performing due diligence, or conducting research on new sectors.

Outside of work, Owen’s big passions are classic movies (especially the films of Martin Scorsese and Stanley Kubrick) and music (from Glenn Gould to Glenn Miller).
